Odd And Unique Fishing Baits

Fishing is one activity that I love to do when I was a kid. My family lives near a lake and we have a boat that we always use when we go fishing at the middle of the lake.   My first fishing experience was a funny one. I was only 6 years old then when I first got hold of a fishing rod. My friends and I out of curiosity went fishing near a dock using my father’s fishing rod. At the dock we just followed what others do by throwing the line as far as we could in the water. We waited for more than an hour but we could not catch a single fish. Because I was not at home for a couple of hours, my worried father started looking for me and was surprised to find me fishing with my friends. When he learned that we did not catch a single fish, he was laughing at us because we did not attached baits on the hook.

My father taught me how to fish properly after that funny moment. I have learned later on to use baits on the hook to attract fish. The lake has abundant variety of fishes and I was so motivated because I caught my first fish which is heavy. We grilled all our catch that day and I can’t wait for the next day for another fishing activity. As I grew older, I have mastered the art of fishing and the kind of baits to be used to catch a particular fish.  And here are some of them.

Hanging clam bait

Who can say you can use a clam for a bait. Yes you can but not the shell. The meat of the clam is an ideal bait for big fishes who eats them. Fish don’t eat the shells of the clams. It will not even enter the mouth of the fish.

Cut pinfish bait

And if you want a more bigger fish try to bait them with this kind of fish. Fish normally don’t chew their food. Maybe some do but most of them swallow their catch. You will notice when you catch big fishes and cut their bellies you can see some whole fishes.

Wormy earthworm bait

And this is the most common fish bait. Fish love them so much maybe because earthworms’ body are soft and easy to chew. You can find earthworms in your background or in any soil that are  moist. And they are easy to attach on hooks.

Professional fishing enthusiasts knows already the different kinds of fishing baits. With their experiences they know what fishing baits to bring and use for that season. I have to learn a lot more from this seasoned fishermen. And as an amateur I am not reluctant to try and use different baits. And this is where the learning process starts. And I will seek the guidance of these experts in marine expedition in lakes or the ocean.

When Auto Correct Fail To Correct

One of the main features of iPhone is auto correction of spelling. When you are texting, or writing a note, if you misspelled a word it will be corrected automatically. This is a useful application because it will lessen your editing time. But this application sometimes fails. When you want to use a certain word sometimes the word spells different. This is not the problem of iPhone only. Some smartphones have this kind of problems also.

Most often, iPhone users when they did not notice the iPhone misspelled a word would just make fun out of it. And both sender and receiver will just shrugged of their shoulders and take this as part of a funny conversation. I always make that common mistakes because of the letter are so narrow, so the tendency is to type a wrong letter for example letter R can be letter T because those letter are adjacent with each other  You will be used later on and when that comes, you’re already aware and have it corrected yourself. Humans are still the best editors. And Apple Apps are made by humans, right?.

The iPhone keys are pattern to the computers, letter H is adjacent to letter G so the common problem every body can encounter is the letter H become G. I love using iPhone but with this kind of texting mistake I just laugh. It is perfectly normal to mistype some letters in the word, right?

Some says that when texting in the cell phones the grammar and spelling are normal to be wrong because it need to be shorten a little bit. But some word if misspelled do have different meaning and word. The iPhone is considered best phone, with a thousand apps to choose from. Truly iPhone has marked its name with the user friendly phone and auto spelling corrector, what happened here?

Typographical error is normal but in iPhone is it normal? Yes, you have a big fingers the tendency of have an error creating a message is higher. The iPhone keys are narrow and sensitive to touch, if you are typing fast and not reading your message then just simply send it be thrilled you are serious trouble.

I myself is using an iPhone, actually I have been so addicted of Apple gadgets because not only because of quality, the durability is really great. I had my very first iPod shuffle for more than 8 years and amazingly it is still working. I have every version of iPhone, from the 1st generation up to the latest one, the iPhone 5. I still keep my old phones on my cabinet but I really can’t forget the incident when I dropped my iPhone 3Gs accidentally on water and I thought that I have the advantage because it is still under warranty. I was wrong, water damage is not covered by the warranty, I totally freaked out. I quickly called my friends to ask for a solution or help. They suggested me simple solutions but none of them really worked. I am glad that I searched on Google and found someone that can help me fix my water damaged iPhone. Oh!! what joy they gave me, it looks to me that my iPhone was not really damaged thanks to these guys.

Business Meeting Etiquette

How would you feel when you are in a conference room in front of your audience discussing your proposal and nobody is listening to you. You can see someone talking to his cell phone, two people talking to each other in the middle of your presentation and another seems taking a nap and the most disgusting is he is snoring. Certainly you will be dismay because you prepared for your presentation for a week and nobody appears interested. You may think if it’s you who has a problem or they don’t have etiquette.

This is really frustrating and if you could only call their attention like in a classroom it would be better. But this people are professionals and they don’t need to be reminded about good manners in meetings. Some speakers are creative how to get their audience attention without them knowing it. I admire speakers who share jokes first before starting his presentations. And every time they feel their audience getting bored, he inserted again some funny jokes to get the listeners’ adrenaline awake.

Some simple manners to adhere during meetings are: 

Be prepared. You must have your pen, notepad and your materials ready for presentation.

Meetings are always called in advance. Except for emergency meetings. There is no excuse for you to come unprepared. Memos are distributed early with the agenda of the meeting. And there is no way you can’t interact  in meetings.

 

Turn off your cell phone or at least put it in silent mode.

Meetings are set at a specific time. And meetings are set to discuss important manners. And meetings are interrupted if somebody’s cell phone rings and answered in the middle of the meeting. If there are really important calls, excuse yourself for a moment and answer the call outside the meeting area.

 

Listen attentively to the speaker. 

It is very disgusting for a speaker when nobody is listening to him. Even if the speaker is a little bit boring,  the best way to help the speaker make the meeting alive is by asking questions on his subject of expertise. You will be surprise you are not yawning anymore.

 

Avoid making unnecessary noises that will disrupt the speaker. 

If I see it right, this is the most stupid thing  to do in a meeting. You’ll get fired immediately when you have this kind of manner. You are expected to do the right attitude not only in meetings but anywhere else as well.

 

And if you arrived late, just seat in your chair quietly and listen immediately to the discussion.

These are the most common things that always happen during  meetings. The company respect you as a professional employee. And you must adhere to the company’s policy regarding the right etiquette. You are in a meeting because they trust your capability.

There are times the venue of the meeting is one of the  factors for a boring meeting. If the ambiance is not suitable, the attendees are sometimes not motivated. The organizers of the meeting may try this very accommodating place  for a more  productive meetings.

Hurricanes Tree Damages

One of the most devastating natural calamities is made by hurricanes. The wind of the hurricane is so strong it can blow a house down in seconds. It also brings heavy rain and floods low lying areas. Electric posts litters the streets with cars turned upside down due to the gustiness of the wind. And rescue is impossible during the strike of a hurricane. You can see sometimes bodies inside and outside the houses after the storm. The best way to avoid injuries when hurricane is approaching is to leave the place until the hurricane finish destroying everything along its path.

One of the most memorable hurricanes that struck America is the Katrina and Isaac. These two hurricanes destroyed hundreds of houses and made the life of the people miserable. It takes some time for the people and the communities affected were able or recover from the disaster. The saddest part is some of the century-old-trees were uprooted from the ground. And authorities have a hard time cutting this trees that blocks main highway and fallen on the houses. Fallen trees can be dangerous because it can fall anytime and anywhere, even the strongest house can be destroyed by  heavy and long fallen trees. Serious damages can be done if the fallen trees are left unattended. An expert in this field of concern can be hired to get rid of this big fallen trees.

This is an almost century-old tree that was uprooted by a hurricane. The house was still lucky because only a part of the roof was destroyed by the fallen tree. The tree was once thick with branches and leaves but look at the tree now. The owner has headache how to lift the tree away from the roof.

This trees brought down with them the electricity cables that black out the entire neighborhood. Only a crane truck can lift this huge trees out of the way.

And the dead were killed again. This tree was seen floating in the air during the wrath of the hurricane. It landed at a cemetery and on top of a niche. Luckily nobody was visiting their dead at the cemetery when this tree was seen flying. This is one of the reason why authorities want everybody in town to leave when a hurricane will directly hit a town.

After seeing the images of the hurricane damages, I am sure the people hit by the hurricane will be extra careful when another hurricane will hit the town. Save your family first because properties can be replaced. Evacuate and be safe with the other evacuees.

Why Are They So Heavy

One of the highest paying jobs today is the heavy equipment operators. They are considered highly skilled workers because they drive the most delicate and dangerous equipment at construction sites. You cannot just apply for the job and start immediately. You have to undergo extensive training and you have to get a special permit before you can operate construction machines. And you must be physically and mentally fit for this job.

Before a building is erected on a site, you can see heavy equipment’s moving inside the site. It is so noisy when they are running simultaneously. This is the scene you will always notice when the foundation of a building is being constructed. The foundation is the most important part of the building. Let kids explore the cuts and corners of the outdoors (or your backyard) by organizing a treasure or scavenger hunt.  This will engage them physically as they climb, jump, run and crawl in search for the items you’ve hidden away.  Challenge them mentally by incorporating riddles in the clues.  You can also promote competitiveness and teamwork by grouping the kids into teams to compete for a grand prize.

 Painting

Bring out the creativity in your kids by setting up a huge blank canvas and letting them paint whatever they want.  Hang that canvas on a wall or a fence.  An alternative can be setting up tables with lots of drawing papers and coloring materials.  You can give them the freedom to paint or draw anything, or you can assign a theme to challenge them up a bit.

 Gardening

Let your kids experience and enjoy sunshine!  If you have an existing vegetable patch or flower garden, encourage them to help you water, trim, transplant seedlings or harvest.  Now, if you don’t have a garden yet, then it would be perfect to start one with your kids.  Ask them what they want to grow and teach them the basics so they can do it themselves.

Favorite Masters of the Arts

Painting is one of the oldest and most enduring forms of visual arts.  History has gifted present generations with painting masterpieces that stirred us emotionally, stimulated us intellectually and influenced us philosophically.  From Leonardo Da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa’ to Georgia O’Keeffe’s ‘Ram’s Head, White Hollyhock-Hills’, paintings have mirrored truths and facts about humanity, love and life.

Hundreds of painters have made their mark in history.  Hundreds of museums house their beloved works.  And as an avid fan of the visual arts, I have always dreamed of looking at these artists’ works right off my own wall.  But of course, that would be impossible unless I buy them.  Anyway, here are some of my favorite paintings.

Vincent Van Gogh: “Starry night”

Of course, who doesn’t know and like this one?  This is actually considered as Van Gogh’s ‘magnum opus’.  The village seen in the painting is called Saint-Remy, which was visible from Van Gogh’s sanitarium room window.  Wow! I wonder how I can get a view like this from my bedroom window.  My window is too small, so I guess I’ll start by having it renovated.   Another interesting fact about this painting is that, though the painting depicts a night sky, he painted it during the day.  He somehow memorized how the village and the sky looked like during the night and painted this from memory.

Salvador Dali: “The Persistence of Memory” 

This surrealist painting is eerily beautiful.  I like this particular painting because of how thought-provoking it is.  The watches melting seem to signify time in real life and how fast they slip by. The only power we seem to have over it is the existence and persistence of past events that haunt us up to the present.  Well, that’s just my own analysis.  I told you, ‘thought-provoking’.

 

Jackson Pollack: “Convergence”

Pollack is one of the contemporary artists I know of.  His lack of form, structure and defined subjects effectively contrasts his predecessors but perfectly captures the spirit of the generation he lived in – liberated, uninhibited and aggressive.

 

 

John William Waterhouse: “The Lady of Shalott”

Waterhouse based this beautiful yet haunting painting on Lord Alfred Tennyson’s poem of the same title.  It’s a tragic story of a woman, kept in a tower, who cannot directly look at the outside world.  All she could do was look at the reflections of the outside world on a mirror.  One day she dared to look directly outside the window and she was cursed.  She escaped the tower and sailed towards her death.  Sad, right? Waterhouse effectively and successfully translated that powerful emotion from words into colors, lines, shadows, lights and strokes.

Being Independent

Are you independent from your parents? I have been independent when I met the man I’m going to share my life with. It would be awkward right to stay with your parents with your new family. Even though my parents are okay with it I don’t like bringing them hassle. But for some reasons being independent has something to do with reaching the right age to stand alone. But before being independent or shall I say moving out from your parent you should be mentally and emotionally prepared.

To those who will cry like a baby then you cannot say you’re ready to be independent. Being prepared with your emotions is the key to a stress free independent life. The other thing to consider is that can you support yourself. Being independent means you don’t have to ask money from your parents. So before deciding to be independent make sure you have a job to sustain your living.

Being independent also require you moving out from your parents house. So make sure to pack all the valuable things you needed. This step would be easy because there are companies like this one that provide transporting and keeping your things.

Whatever your reason maybe make sure to consider the things above. If you hings on the rush then I’m sure it will end up a mess. Take time to think and be sure to every decisions you make.
